Charleys Cheesesteaks celebrates grand opening on Frederick’s Golden Mile
The new Charleys Cheesesteaks at Frederick County Square is now open, bringing made-to-order cheesesteaks, wings, loaded fries and more to West Patrick Street.

Charleys Cheesesteaks celebrated its grand opening on Sept. 8. The restaurant is located at 1003 W. Patrick Street, Unit 6 in Frederick County Square. The Frederick location is operated by Frederick Cheesesteaks LLC. Owners Billy and Dani run the location as a family business. Their two sons also work at the restaurant. The menu includes cheesesteaks, chicken cheesesteaks, wings, loaded fries, lemonades and milkshakes. Everything Frederick visited during the grand opening and tried the food firsthand.
A new cheesesteak spot is officially open on Frederick’s Golden Mile.
Charleys Cheesesteaks, located at 1003 W. Patrick Street, Unit 6, in Frederick County Square, celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday, September 8.
Everything Frederick stopped in during the opening, met owners Billy and Dani, and sampled the food firsthand.
The early verdict: it was delicious.
Billy and Dani were warm and welcoming during the visit, taking time to talk about the restaurant and the family behind the business. The Frederick location is operated by Frederick Cheesesteaks LLC, a locally based family operation, and the family connection goes beyond the owners themselves — their two sons also work at the restaurant.
That gives the Frederick County Square location a distinctly local feel, even though Charleys is a national brand.
Charleys is best known for its grilled, made-to-order cheesesteaks, but the menu extends well beyond the classic steak-and-cheese combination. Customers can also find chicken cheesesteaks, wings, loaded fries, real-fruit lemonades, milkshakes and other fast-casual options.
The national Charleys brand dates back to 1986, when it began near The Ohio State University before expanding across the United States and internationally.
For Frederick, though, this location now has its own identity through Billy, Dani and their family-run operation.
The new restaurant also adds another dining option to a Golden Mile corridor that continues to see new business activity. Charleys had previously been highlighted as one of the incoming restaurant additions at Frederick County Square, and the grand opening now makes that arrival official.
