Week 3 football scoreboard: Oakdale, Linganore and Walkersville roll to big wins
Oakdale, Linganore and Walkersville all posted decisive Week 3 victories, while Frederick earned its first win of the season with a 38-12 victory over South Hagerstown.

Walkersville beat Urbana 37-8. Linganore beat Tuscarora 49-7. Oakdale beat Middletown 35-7. Frederick beat South Hagerstown 38-12. Boonsboro beat Brunswick 42-7. Williamsport beat Catoctin 21-0. North Hagerstown beat Thomas Johnson 35-14.
Week 3 produced several statement wins across the Frederick County high school football schedule.
Walkersville, Linganore and Oakdale all stayed unbeaten with decisive victories, while Frederick broke into the win column with a 38-12 victory over South Hagerstown.
Walkersville 37, Urbana 8
Walkersville remained unbeaten with a commanding 37-8 victory over Urbana.
Both teams entered the matchup at 2-0, making it one of the most anticipated games of the week.
The Lions’ convincing win moved them to 3-0 and handed Urbana its first loss of the season.
Linganore 49, Tuscarora 7
Defending Class 3A state champion Linganore continued its dominant start with a 49-7 win over Tuscarora.
The Lancers entered the week riding a 15-game winning streak and extended that run with another overwhelming performance.
Tuscarora had entered the matchup 2-0 and was trying to start 3-0 for the first time since 2016.
Oakdale 35, Middletown 7
Oakdale won another major unbeaten matchup, beating Middletown 35-7.
Both programs had opened the season 2-0, but Oakdale separated itself with a decisive victory.
The Bears moved to 3-0 after entering the week with blowout wins over St. John’s Catholic Prep and Thomas Johnson.
Frederick 38, South Hagerstown 12
Frederick earned its first victory of the season with a 38-12 win over South Hagerstown.
The Cadets had opened 0-2 following losses to Guilford Park and Smyrna, Delaware.
The victory also marked the first win for EJ Wallace as Frederick’s head coach.
Boonsboro 42, Brunswick 7
Brunswick’s difficult start continued with a 42-7 loss to Boonsboro.
The Railroaders remain winless through three games.
Williamsport 21, Catoctin 0
Catoctin was shut out 21-0 by Williamsport.
The loss extended the Cougars’ losing streak, which had already reached 10 games entering Week 3.
North Hagerstown 35, Thomas Johnson 14
Thomas Johnson fell to North Hagerstown 35-14.
The Patriots had opened the season with a win over Catoctin before suffering losses to Oakdale and North Hagerstown.
WHAT IT MEANS
Week 3 created some early separation among Frederick County’s football teams.
Oakdale, Linganore and Walkersville all delivered decisive wins in games involving previously unbeaten opponents, while Frederick finally broke through after a difficult 0-2 start.
The results also add pressure on teams such as Brunswick and Catoctin as they continue searching for momentum.
