Early Voting Opens at Five Frederick County Locations
Voters can cast ballots Oct. 22–29 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., including the weekend, at any of the county’s five early-voting centers.

HERE'S WHAT WE KNOW
Early voting runs Oct. 22–29, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, including Saturday and Sunday. Frederick County has five early-voting centers, and county voters may cast their ballot at any one of them during that period. Eligible residents can register in person during early voting or on Election Day with documentation establishing their address.
Frederick County voters can begin casting ballots in the 2026 general election Thursday, Oct. 22, with five early-voting centers open across the county.
Early voting continues through Thursday, Oct. 29. All five locations operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day, including Saturday and Sunday. County voters may use any of the five centers during the early-voting period.
The locations listed in The Frederick News-Post’s report are:
• Trinity Recreation Center — 6040 New Design Road, Frederick. • Urbana Regional Library — 9020 Amelung St., Urbana. • Thurmont Regional Library — 76 E. Moser Road, Thurmont. • Middletown Volunteer Fire Department Activities Building — 1 Fireman’s Lane, Middletown. • Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department Activities Building — 12027 South St., Libertytown.
Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. can still cast their ballots, according to the Maryland State Board of Elections.
Eligible residents who are not registered can register in person during early voting or on Election Day. For same-day registration, bring a document proving your address. The state board lists a Maryland driver’s license, identification card or change-of-address card among the options. A paycheck, bank statement, utility bill or other government document showing your name and address can also establish residency.
That documentation guidance applies to registering at the voting location.
The ballot includes races for governor, attorney general and comptroller, along with state legislative seats and Maryland’s 6th Congressional District. County voters will also decide races for county executive, County Council, sheriff, Board of Education and other local offices and judicial positions.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Assigned Election Day polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The county elections office’s early-voting page confirms the dates, daily hours and the option to vote at any county early-voting center. Voters can consult the county and state election websites for official information before heading out.
WHAT IT MEANS
The eight-day early-voting period gives residents weekday and weekend options before Nov. 3. Choose a county early-voting center that fits your schedule, and bring the required address documentation if you plan to register when you vote.
