Oakdale rolls past Thomas Johnson 42-6 as Dylan Ohm settles in at quarterback
Junior quarterback Dylan Ohm threw four touchdown passes on just six completions as Oakdale improved to 2-0 with another dominant offensive performance.

Oakdale beat Thomas Johnson 42-6. Dylan Ohm completed 6 of 8 passes. Four of those completions went for touchdowns. Joziah Cobb caught a 48-yard touchdown. Charlie Alt also caught a touchdown. Graydon Beaver caught two touchdown passes. Ohm has now accounted for multiple touchdowns in each of his first two varsity starts.
Oakdale’s new starting quarterback is making the transition look easy.
Junior Dylan Ohm threw four touchdown passes as the Bears beat Thomas Johnson 42-6 on Thursday, giving Oakdale another dominant win to begin the season.
Ohm’s first two passes of the night both went for touchdowns.
He connected with Joziah Cobb and Charlie Alt, including a 48-yard scoring strike to Cobb on Oakdale’s second offensive snap.
One of Ohm’s most impressive plays did not officially go into the books as a touchdown.
Facing third-and-19, he rolled to his right, kept his eyes downfield and fired across the middle to Cobb, who turned the pass into what appeared to be a 57-yard touchdown before a penalty shortened the play to 46 yards.
Oakdale coach Kurt Stein described the throw as the kind of play usually expected from a much more experienced quarterback.
Ohm had already accounted for four touchdowns in Oakdale’s 63-8 season-opening win over St. John’s Catholic Prep.
Against TJ, he completed six of eight passes, and four of those completions went for touchdowns. Senior tight end Graydon Beaver caught two of them.
For Thomas Johnson, the loss came one week after a 26-8 season-opening victory over Catoctin.
WHAT IT MEANS
Oakdale appears to have found its next quarterback.
Ohm’s composure and ability to extend plays have helped the Bears produce two huge offensive performances to open the season. For Thomas Johnson, the game showed there is still a significant gap to close against one of Frederick County’s strongest programs.
