Governor Thomas Johnson came up three points short Friday, Sept. 25, losing 19–16 at South Hagerstown.
The result left both teams at 1–3. South Hagerstown earned its first victory of the season, while the Patriots took their third consecutive loss.
Thomas Johnson had opened the season with a 26–8 win over Catoctin before losses to Oakdale and North Hagerstown. Friday’s defeat was considerably closer than either of those two results.
South Hagerstown’s 19 points represented its highest scoring total through four games, according to MaxPreps.
Thomas Johnson is scheduled to host Walkersville on Friday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m. South Hagerstown hosts Catoctin that evening at 6 p.m.

The Patriots return home looking to end a three-game losing streak. Their next opponent, Walkersville, is coming off its first loss.
