Frederick police intensify search for missing 15-year-old girl, ask public to check surveillance video

She was last seen wearing a pink tank top, beige pants and pink Crocs. She was carrying a black purse. Police are asking the public to review surveillance and doorbell camera footage.
The Frederick Police Department is asking residents and businesses to check surveillance and doorbell cameras as the search continues for a missing 15-year-old girl.
Valeria Castellanos was last seen at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Sept. 7 leaving the 500 block of Boysenberry Lane in Frederick, according to reporting from Shore News Network. Police said she left in an unknown direction.
More than a week later, investigators are asking the public to review any available security footage that could help establish where Castellanos went after she was last seen.
Police are specifically looking for video showing Castellanos or any activity that might help investigators build a clearer timeline.
Castellanos is described as Hispanic, approximately 5-foot-2 and 105 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair that reaches her hips.
When she was last seen, she was wearing a pink tank top, beige pants and pink Crocs and was carrying a black purse.
Police also said Castellanos has a piercing in her right nostril and a belly-button piercing.
She carries an inhaler because she has asthma.
The latest appeal is focused heavily on surveillance evidence.
Residents and businesses who may have camera footage from the area are being asked to review recordings and submit anything potentially relevant directly to Frederick police through the department’s evidence portal.
The case remains an active missing-person investigation.
